The shortlisted artworks from our inaugural Student Art Prize 2019/20 are currently on display in our external gallery on the awnings beside Durham University’s Bill Bryson Library. FREE and open to all!

Our Scavenger Hunt features works by student artists shortlisted for the 2019/20 prize. What can you find, photograph or create to represent TOUCH, WAVE, AGE, RAINBOW and MOVEMENT?

LIGHTING UP THE HOME

We want you to make your own Christmas light installation in your home! Inspired by the Lumiere light festival, which takes place across Durham every two years, this competition asks people use their own houses, bedrooms, gardens, bathrooms to make a unique piece of light art, being creative with what you have lying around the house. Share, tag or email your creations to win a SitC festival t-shirt!

Often working with light, artist Stuart Langley has the following words of advice…
